Cristina Bordé
Cristina Bordé has served as Resource Counsel for the Federal Death Penalty Resource Counsel Project since 2020. Ms. Bordé has represented death row inmates on appeal and in postconviction for over 20 years. She is also lead counsel for the Latinx Initiative of the Illinois Innocence Project – an initiative that provides legal representation in postconviction proceedings to Latinx inmates claiming innocence and helps develop policy to reduce the causes of wrongful convictions of Latinx inmates. Ms. Bordé has presented at national and state conferences on numerous topics including cultural competence, interpretation issues, causes of wrongful convictions, intellectual disabilities, and flawed forensic sciences. She is a native Spanish-speaker who grew up in Colombia.
